In Eastern Kentucky, kinship isn't just a word. It's how communities survive.

For generations, people in these mountains have looked after one another. Not because they had to, but because that's simply what you do. You show up for your neighbors. You sit with someone in their hardest moment. You don't let people fall through the cracks alone.

We grew up understanding that.

We've watched our community carry some of the heaviest mental health burdens in the country, with some of the fewest resources to address them. The shortage hasn't only been in providers. It has been in the kind of care that actually feels like care. The kind where someone knows your name, knows your family, knows where you come from.

We've seen what a long winter does. How the cold settles in, not just in the body but in the spirit.

We've also seen the other side of it. Paid witness to the thaw. And there is nothing else quite like it.

This is the warmth after the hard season.

A place that feels like kin.

Appointments long enough to actually talk. We'd rather understand what's going on than move you through.

The same provider every visit, someone who remembers your history and doesn't make you start over.

Clear explanations. What a medication does, what to watch for, what the alternatives are. Then we decide together.

Care that connects. We coordinate with your therapist and primary care provider whenever it helps.

Kinship is a 10,000 square foot building in London. We took that much room on purpose.

We'll open with psychiatric evaluation and medication management. We'll soon add on therapists, so therapy and medication can happen in the same place instead of two different towns.

A lab on site, so bloodwork isn't another trip on another day.

Primary care in early 2027.

Here's why. Care around here is scattered. You see one person for medication, somebody else for therapy, drive somewhere else for labs, and your regular doctor never hears from any of them. You wind up keeping your own chart in your head and telling your story over again to every new person.

That's a lot to ask of somebody who's already tired. We'd rather you didn't have to.
